Your Life Vision Needs a Place to Live In

Imaging your desired lifestyle. Think about long term period like 20 or more years from now. It doesn’t have to be clear picture. Rather I suspect it to be blurry image with several clear spots. Those clear portions define essential parts of your life vision. Details can’t be known for now.

They say it’s crucial to visualize your dreams. I totally agree. Your life vision at this point is basically a dream.

Visualization can be with images or words, with less or more details. Here are several simple ways to represent your life vision. Use the one which fits you the most. Just remember that you’re picturing the state and don’t need to worry how you get there yet.

  1. Create a dream board. Find pictures resonating with your life vision and make a collage. Add a bit of personal touch with handwritten captions, notes, connections, etc. You can make physical or digital dream board. Whatever feels more natural for you.
  2. Write a short essay. Half a page or a page describing your life as if you already live this lifestyle. I suggest hand writing this essay. Research shows that people feel more connection with the text when handwriting opposed to when typing.
  3. Write a short statement. Just a couple of sentences covering essential parts of your vision. On one side this is the hardest way because your vision may easily sound too abstract. So it may require more effort than previous options. On the other hand it really makes you think deep and boils down to essentials. That’s the one I’ve switched to recently and I like it a lot.

Now keep it accessible. Review it regularly. It needs to be in your subconscious. Feel it, breath it, and start moving forward.
